Hydro-vacuum (non-destructive) Excavation
Hydro excavation is a non-destructive method of digging. It utilises pressurised water and a vacuum system to quickly and safely expose underground infrastructure. The process involves the injection of pressurised water into the ground through a handheld wand. The excess ‘mud’ is then removed using a vacuum system to safely expose the underground infrastructure.
Knowledge of underground infrastructure is often important and as an integrated system LandMark Surveys can detect some underground infrastructure using electro-magnetic equipment, uncover the services using the hydro-vac system, then map the infrastructure using various surveying techniques.
